Many thanks to golf legend Paul McGinley for his inspirational Minerva lecture to our PE pupils and sports scholars on Tuesday (23 January).
Paul shared his experiences both as a winning member of the Ryder Cup team and in particular, his role as the winning captain of Europe in the 2014 Ryder Cup.
A strong theme throughout the lecture was that of leadership and he gave a fascinating behind the scenes insight into how he masterminded the team’s victory in 2014. He also emphasised the importance of planning and explained how he managed to organise individuals with different characters and attributes into an effective team – valuable advice that will help our pupils through their time at Bradfield and beyond.
In a Q&A session after the presentation, both pupils and teachers were invited to ask questions that covered his career and future plans.
We thank Paul again for kicking off another packed Minerva Programme this term and look forward to a diverse range of lectures in the coming weeks on topics including flamenco, development studies and design engineering.
