The end of November saw over 60 pupils across all year groups give four performances of We Will Rock You over three days in front of sell-out crowds.
The set in the Old Gym was minimalist focusing on spectacular visuals and costuming, drawing much inspiration from The Matrix films. However, the pupils were the stars of the show, wowing audience members with performances showcasing the best of Queen.
On the final night, the crowd were treated to a special guest appearance from Oliver Tompsett, best known for being the last person to play Galileo in the West End production. Oliver had workshopped with the cast on the final afternoon providing inspiration for their final performance and congratulated the cast afterwards in front of the roaring crowds.
The production raised money for The Mercury Phoenix Trust, an HIV and AIDS charity set up in memory of Queen’s iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury.
A full write up of the production will be in the next Bradfieldian.
