On Wednesday (12 October), Yateley Manor School won the girls Prep Schools Hockey Tournament on a glorious autumn day.
Having shown their science acumen by winning the Prep Schools Science Challenge last week, Yateley showed off their sporting prowess by going through the tournament unbeaten and winning all but one of their nine matches.
In the morning the girls from the 10 participating prep schools were put through their paces in a series of hockey drills conducted by Bradfield’s staff and some of our current 1st XI players.
In the afternoon, the schools competed in a league to put their training into practice and show off their skills. The games came thick and fast with all teams playing nine games. Lots of families turned up to show their support contributing to a fantastic atmosphere.
When all of the games had finished it was Yateley who emerged victorious with Daneshill School finishing a close second. The well-deserved winners were presented with their medals with all parents and pupils alike invited to have tea at the end of a fantastic day in the sunshine.
