Bradfield College is proud to be an All-Steinway School, demonstrating our commitment to musical excellence.

The Music Department at Bradfield aims to fill every corner of our community with music. We are dedicated to supporting students who join us with a passion for music, while also inspiring and encouraging new pupils to explore and engage with music, whether that be academic, co-curricular, or individual.

Our provision is delivered in three key areas. In the academic classroom, we offer a compulsory lesson each week in Faulkner’s, following a new and innovative skills-based syllabus. From September 2024, pupils heading into year 10 will be able to join the bespoke SDC Music course. In the Sixth Form, we run both the A level and IB courses. Our co-curricular program boasts a variety of opportunities including choirs, instrumental ensembles, and a music technology group, ensuring that every student can find their niche and develop their skills. Additionally, we provide individual instrumental and vocal lessons taught by our expert Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs), many of whom are accomplished professional musicians. The yearly programme is packed with performance opportunities, both big and small. This diverse and comprehensive approach allows us to support and inspire every student in their musical journey.

Please do take the time to explore the music section, watch and listen to the pupils, read the fascinating blog jointly written by our Director of Music and Head of Academic Music and start to discover the world of Bradfield Music.
